Private Party Inquiry
PRIVATE POTTERY PARTY OPTIONS
Private Parties are great for special occasions, corporate team building, bachelorette parties, private celebrations, family gatherings, and anyone looking for a unique Santa Fe experience! Private parties last 2-3 hours and can focus on wheel-throwing, hand-building, sculpture, painting pottery, or raku firing. We welcome large groups and can accommodate up to 100 people.
Option 1: EXPERIENCE
During Pottery “Experiences” students learn either wheel or hand-building techniques (or both!) from our skilled artists. These classes are experience-based and at the end of the class, clay is recycled back into the mound, but guests do not walk away empty-handed. Each student receives a $15 credit in our on-site gallery.
Duration: 2 hours. Cost: $150 per person.
Option 2: PAMPERED PARTY
For an unforgettable exclusive event, we highly recommend upgrading to a Pampered Pottery Party! At Pampered Parties we pull out all the stops, treating our guests to a high-end interactive art experience including a pop-up bar serving drinks by Tumbleroot Brewery & Distillery in a hand-made piece from the gallery (which students take home with them), live music, hors d’ouevres, chocolates, and three hours of exclusive studio access where party-goers create with clay under the guidance of our skilled artists.
Duration: 3 hours. Cost: $350 per person ($50 optional up-charge for firing/glazing one piece per guest, which can be shipped or picked-up 6 weeks after the party).
Option 3: RAKU EXPERIENCE
The raku experience is entirely focused on the ancient art of raku firing, rather than wheel throwing or hand-building. This workshop allows participants to experience the excitement of moving glowing red hot pottery pieces into metal cans where pieces combust and reduce, producing raku's signature palette of colors; copper, blues, reds, and crackle whites or participants may try their hand at horsehair finishing. When participants arrive, they choose from a selection of bisqueware vases, which are handmade in advance by our ceramic artist, then paint their vases with raku glazes and choose from a selection of combustibles (pinecones, leaves, feathers, honey, etc.) that can be used to experiment with different raku firing techniques, guided by our professional artists. This is a highly interactive and exciting form of pottery firing. Since the pieces are fired during the workshop, students walk away immediately with their finished products.
Duration: 2-3 hours. Cost: $195 per person (bisqueware priced additionally).
Option 4: PAINTED POTTERY
This is our only mostly self-guided experience. Participants are provided with an array of underglaze colors, transfers, and bisqueware (from functional ware to figurines) to let their imagination run wild!
Participants have two options when it comes to painting their pottery.
Option 1: Acrylic paint (pieces will be ready to take home with you at the end of the class).
Option 2: Glaze (pieces will need to be fired, so they will be ready 3-5 days after the class).
Duration: 2 hours. Cost: $35 per person. Bisqueware is priced additionally (average $5-$35 per piece).
We also offer an upgrade to this:
Option 5: PAMPERED PAINTED POTTERY
Includes fresh pastries and/or local chocolates, libations from Tumbleroot, and guidance from our professional ceramic artists.
Duration: 2 hours. Cost: $100 per person. Bisqueware is priced additionally (average $5-$35 per piece).
