About Our Classes
Come play in the mud with a local ceramic artist! Join one of our group classes or call to schedule a private pottery class at a time that’s convenient for you—mornings, afternoons, and evenings are possible.
We start each pottery class by dolling out beverages, then taking students on a tour of our studio, which is housed inside a rustic little adobe built in the early 1900s in the Railyard District of Santa Fe and has been part of the Santa Fe art scene for nearly thirty years.
During class, you’ll learn about the entire process of making pottery, from throwing your pieces on the wheel today through how we will take your pieces through the rest of the process: trimming, drying, bisquing, glazing, and firing. You’ll have an opportunity to make two pieces, and at the end of class you’ll choose a glaze color for each. Then we’ll handle the rest, shipping your new works of art to you when they’re fresh out of the kiln.
Classes are taught by Angela Smith Kirkman, a ceramic artist with nearly thirty of experience who volunteers her time and specializes in rustic dinnerware influenced by years of travel. Angela has recently taken over Paseo Pottery and launched its new charitable mission. She’s excited to be sharing her pottery passion with fellow mud-lovers.
Cost: $75/person includes a two-hour class complete with libations, all materials, clay, glazes, and firing, and we can ship your works of art to you when they're complete. Call to reserve your spot or book right here on our calendar.
GROUP CLASSES: Join one of our group classes and come play in the studio with a fun group of new friends. Check our calendar to book your spot in one of our upcoming themed classes: Date Night , Kids classes, Girls Night Out, TGIF, and SUDS + MUD classes.
PRIVATE CLASSES: Get your family, colleagues, or friends together and give us a call to schedule a private class at a time that’s convenient for you.
